Shopify, our top-rated ecommerce builder, now enables merchants to sell directly through AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, AI Mode, and the Gemini app. With an increasing number of shoppers treating AI as their personal shopping assistant, this product update will help sellers appear in front of high-intent customers.

I’ll explain how you can take advantage of Shopify’s Agentic Commerce rollout and start reaching new customers today.

💡 Key Takeaways

  • Shopify merchants can sell their products through AI agents, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google’s AI Mode
  • For existing Shopify merchants, products will be discoverable through AI agents by default
  • Sellers outside of Shopify can subscribe to its Agentic plan, enabling them to upload their products to Shopify’s Catalog and get them featured in AI chatbot conversations
  • Store owners won’t be charged for using Shopify’s Agentic Commerce, but will need to pay third-party payment processing fees for each transaction (from 2.9% + 30¢)
  • Shopify’s Agentic Commerce feature can help you maximize your store’s online presence and sales across different AI channels

How Does Shopify’s Agentic Commerce Work?

To display items to shoppers using AI chatbots, Shopify organizes merchant items in its Catalog API. This is essentially a huge database that stores product data in a way that AI assistants like ChatGPT and Copilot can easily understand. This means that when users are shopping online, the AI can recommend specific items from the database that are tailored to their needs and wants.

How Can I Get My Products To Show in AI Channels?

Both existing Shopify merchants and sellers outside of the platform can sell via its Agentic Commerce offering. Here’s how you get your products seen depending on where you’re selling online:

  1. Shopify merchants – Shopify merchants have access to these AI selling opportunities by default, so you don’t need to set anything up yourself. You can also head to the Shopify admin in your dashboard to manage your settings. That said, merchants can opt out from appearing in AI channels if they’d like to.
  2. Merchants outside of Shopify – External sellers can sign up to Shopify’s Agentic plan to make their products shoppable across AI channels. Though it’s a free subscription plan, you will need to pay third-party transaction fees whenever a customer completes a purchase through an AI channel. Card rates per purchase typically begin from 2.9% + 30¢.

Is Shopify’s Agentic Commerce Worth it?

If you’re already selling via Shopify, Agentic Commerce is worth it. Not only is the feature included with all Shopify plans, but it’ll help you maximise your visibility across different AI agents and acquire new customers.

Merchants selling on other platforms will also find Shopify’s Agentic Commerce worthwhile. Shopify acts as a middleman between your store and numerous AI agents, so you’re able to reach wider audiences without having to migrate your entire storefront. All you need to do is sync your product catalog to Shopify to get started.

Most importantly, embracing agentic storefronts can help your store adapt to emerging shopping trends. By diversifying your store’s traffic sources, you can guide new customers to your products and optimize conversion rates. The stores that are slow to adapt will be left behind, so the prime time to optimize your ecommerce strategy is now.

Replit Alternatives: 4 Vibe Coding Platforms To Switch to in 2026 https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/vibe-coding/replit-alternatives/ https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/vibe-coding/replit-alternatives/#respond Wed, 25 Mar 2026 16:59:21 +0000 https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/?p=136027 The post Replit Alternatives: 4 Vibe Coding Platforms To Switch to in 2026 appeared first on Website Builder Expert.

]]>

As of our 2026 research and testing, the best Replit alternatives are Hostinger Horizons, Base44, Lovable, and Tempo Labs. To help you choose between the best vibe coding platforms, I’ll explore each alternative in further depth, covering factors like pricing, depth of features, and credits.

Our methodology means that we’ve researched and tested the best Replit alternatives ourselves, looking at five key categories: pricing and value, usability and accessibility, product capabilities, customer support, and market perception. By examining these key categories, we can confidently offer you informed, honest recommendations.

How Do the Best Replit Alternatives Compare?

Here are the key differences between the best alternatives to Replit:

Replit rolled out its latest agent, Agent 4, in March 2026. It enables users to:
  • Access a new design canvas and tweak app visuals directly
  • More build options to create apps, landing pages, decks, SaaS tools, and videos in the same project
  • Assemble task-based workflows for collaborative teams working on the same projects

What Does Replit Cost Compared to Alternatives?

Hostinger Horizons is the cheapest Replit alternative, with plans starting from $6.99 per month (billed annually). That said, it doesn’t have a free plan like Replit does, but you can use its seven-day free trial to test its capabilities first.

You can compare Replit’s pricing against Hostinger Horizons and the rest of its competitors below:

🤝 Why you can trust us

Our vibe coding recommendations aren’t biased, but are informed by our in-house research and testing. In fact, I’ve spent hours with each of the Replit alternatives on this list, so I can offer you first-hand insights based on my experiences. All of the content on this page is designed to help you make the right choice.

1. Hostinger Horizons

  • It’s better than Replit for… cheaper pricing plans and a beginner-friendly interface
  • I recommend Hostinger Horizons for… complete beginners, entrepreneurs, and freelancers

Hostinger Horizons is my top Replit alternative, offering affordable pricing from $6.99 (billed annually) and a beginner-friendly interface. During testing, the AI logged all code changes and provided step-by-step guidance, making it accessible for beginners.

I found Hostinger Horizons’ AI really personable and it kept me motivated as it guided me through the process. Source: Website Builder Expert

💸 How much does Hostinger Horizons cost?

  • Hostinger Horizons plans$6.99 to $59.99 per month
  • Key features on cheapest plan: 30 AI credits/mo, create one website, Supabase integration
  • Free trial? Seven-day free trial
  • Free plan? No

✅ What I Like

  • Cheapest pricing plans from $6.99 per month (billed annually)
  • Easiest platform to use, making it ideal for beginners
  • One-click app launches
  • App hosting, domains, security, and SEO tied into the platform
  • Build multilingual apps, with 80+ languages to choose from

❌ What I Dislike

  • Restrictive free trial with only five free message credits. It’s easy to burn through them fast as you test the platform
  • Multiple people can’t work on an app at once, which isn’t ideal for small teams
  • Can’t upload files to support prompting
  • Doesn’t integrate with GitHub for advanced version control

Should I Use Hostinger Horizons or Replit?

  • Learn how to build an app with Hostinger Horizons if you’re budget-conscious or a complete beginner. Replit’s pricing plans cost more, while its interface can be more confusing for vibe coding newbies.
  • Use Replit if you need advanced features that Hostinger Horizons doesn’t have, such as real-time collaboration between team members – it’s better for larger, more ambitious projects.

Could I Export My Replit Project to Hostinger Horizons?

Though you can export your project from Replit, you can’t import the code into Hostinger Horizons as the platform makes you start from scratch. The only vibe coding platforms on this list that enable you to import a project are Lovable and Tempo Labs via their GitHub integrations.

2. Base44

  • It’s better than Replit for… speedy setup and non-technical app building
  • I recommend Base44 for… small business owners and entrepreneurs creating protoypes or MVPs

Base44 provides businesses and entrepreneurs with a seamless, non-technical way to build apps. It handles everything for you, from frontend and backend to databases and hosting. I also found the interface super user-friendly and was particularly impressed by the “Plan Mode” that helps new users make an app tailored to their requirements.

💸 How much does Base44 cost?

  • Base44 plans$20 to $160 per month (billed annually)
  • Key features on cheapest plan: Unlimited app creation, in-app code edits
  • Free trial? No
  • Free plan? Yes

✅ What I Like

  • Key tools built-in (e.g. databases and security), so you don’t need to rely on third-party providers for additional features
  • Easy to use interface with seamless conversational prompting
  • Real-time collaboration with teams
  • Built-in “plan mode” to help with app ideation and planning
  • Analytics dashboard to track app performance

❌ What I Dislike

  • Poor customer support with slow responses to tickets and no 24/7 help lines
  • Backend functions unavailable on the Starter plan
  • Some users doubt Base44’s full-stack capabilities, noticing shallow features and occasionally buggy builds

Should I Use Base44 or Replit?

  • Use Base44 if you want to quickly create visual prototypes or early-stage MVPs. Through its non-technical interface, you can start writing AI prompts and building apps.
  • Replit is more suitable for apps that require more technical control. It offers real-time collaboration, advanced agents, and a greater number of integrations that Base44 doesn’t currently match.

3. Lovable

  • It’s better than Replit for… greater customization thanks to its visual editor and seamless built-in integrations
  • I recommend Lovable for… Designers or marketers generating app prototypes or business tools

Lovable is a highly-customizable vibe coding platform, offering production-ready integrations like Supabase and GitHub, alongside a powerful visual editor that enhances the user interface. This makes Lovable most suitable for designers or marketers that want to create apps with a particular design or functionality in mind.

With Lovable’s visual editor, I could use the right-hand sidebar to make design changes, or prompt Lovable to get it to change a specific design feature. Source: Website Builder Expert

💸 How much does Lovable cost?

  • Lovable plans: $21 to $42 per month (billed annually)
  • Key features on cheapest plan: Credits rollover, on-demand credit top-up, user roles and permissions
  • Free trial? No
  • Free plan? Yes

✅ What I Like

  • Visual editor enabling users to customize the user interface
  • Built-in integrations, such as Shopify, Slack, and Stripe, that are easy to implement
  • Platform is easy to pick up, though not as straightforward as Hostinger Horizons or Base44
  • App templates available for inspiration

❌ What I Dislike

  • Lack of transparency about credit usage, so it’s tricky to tell how much you’ve used

Should I Use Lovable or Replit?

  • Use Lovable if you’d like plenty of control over your app’s look and features. You can seamlessly add integrations to your store, be it payment processing or databases, and adjust your design in the visual editor.
  • Stick with Replit if you care more about what your app does, rather than how it looks. It’s better equipped at dealing with complex logic and backend architecture for more ambitious projects.

4. Tempo Labs

  • It’s better than Replit for… offering app debugging at no extra cost
  • I recommend Tempo Labs for… vibe coders with some experience who want to edit their code themselves

Tempo Labs is one of the best Replit alternatives because of its free debugging feature. This enables you to fix app issues without consuming your credits fast, which is a common pain point of platforms like Replit.

Additionally, Tempo Labs lets users prompt the AI and manually edit the underlying code, setting it apart from fully automated platforms like Base44 and Lovable. It’s ideal for experienced users that want to prompt, but also make direct changes to their code.

Code editor open to a TypeScript file defining color themes with properties like id, name, background, iconColor, and swatches, alongside a console showing live updates.

💸 How much does Tempo Labs cost?

  • Tempo Labs plans: $30 to $4,500 per month (billed annually)
  • Key features on cheapest plan: Free error fixes, code and reasoning agents, add 250 bonus credits for $50 anytime
  • Free trial? No
  • Free plan? Yes

✅ What I Like

  • Error fixes are free
  • Edit project code anytime
  • Visual drag-and-drop editor
  • Can generate a Products Requirements Document (PRD) for each project, which is an outline of your app’s purpose, key features, and tech stack

❌ What I Dislike

  • Significant price increase between plans (from $30 to $4,500), though the most expensive plan is for businesses that need custom AI agents

Should I Use Tempo Labs or Replit?

  • Use Tempo Labs over Replit if you’re an individual who’d prefer a flexible approach to vibe coding. The platform enables you to prompt, visually tweak your app’s design, or jump in and edit your own code.
  • Replit also offers flexibility like Tempo Labs, sporting an interactive chat mode and real-time collaboration. That said, it’s better suited for group projects and building skills within a team.

How Do I Choose an Alternative to Replit?

Choose the right vibe coding tool for your needs by considering pricing, the number of credits on each plan, the features and integrations needed, customer support, your knowledge level, and security.

  1. Pricing – Find a vibe coding subscription plan that suits your budget. You could consider free plans if you’re trying to save money
  2. Credits – See how many credits come with each plan and if there are any daily credit caps or rollovers. You’ll need a higher volume of credits for more ambitious projects
  3. Features and integrations – Write down non-negotiable features and integrations, be it visual edits or payment processing, and look for a platform that has them
  4. Customer support – See which platforms have comprehensive help resources and reliable contact methods
  5. Knowledge level – Are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced? Experienced users will prefer a hands-off approach, while beginners may want their hand held
  6. Security – Is your vibe coding platform transparent about how it uses your data? And is it open about protecting your app’s security? Be wary of sharing confidential data with the AI unless you’re 100% sure that it’ll be kept secure.

How Do We Test Vibe Coding Platforms?

To offer you informed vibe coding recommendations, we’ve spent hours researching and testing the top Replit alternatives. In particular, we’ve examined five core categories and weighted them based on importance:

  1. Pricing and value: 30%
  2. Usability and accessibility: 30%
  3. Product capabilities: 20%
  4. Customer support: 10%
  5. Market perception: 10%

The percentage-based weightings were determined by their value to businesses, entrepreneurs, and freelancers interested in vibe coding. I could then use this data to shortlist the four best Replit alternatives.

Replit Alternatives: Should I Switch?

If you need cheaper pricing, a simpler interface, or are struggling with Replit’s advanced features, you should switch to Hostinger Horizons. It’s the best Replit alternative thanks to its budget-friendly plans starting from $6.99 per month (billed annually) and beginner-friendly setup and app creation.

That said, also consider switching to:

  • Base44: if you’re looking for a non-technical app building experience that handles all the important details for you, such as databases and backend functionality
  • Lovable: if you want to work on a highly-customizable project via its visual editor and seamless app integrations
  • Tempo Labs: if you want to get stuck into writing AI prompts and using its visual editor, but also edit your code yourself

FAQs

Yes, Base44, Lovable, and Tempo Labs all come with free plans that enable you to use their vibe coding tools at no extra cost. That said, it’s recommended that you switch to a paid plan if you’re building complex or scalable apps, since you’ll receive more credits and features for your build.
Hostinger Horizons is best at handling SEO as you vibe code, since it’s able to generate your sitemaps and robots.txt for you. Additionally, it follows best practices for Google and ensures that your project is found by crawlers. Other platforms, like Base44, Lovable, and Tempo Labs, either overlook SEO or require you to implement SEO changes yourself.

Base44 is the best free vibe coding tool, with flat rate credit charges that are easy to track and a generous range of features that mean you won’t need to spend extra on third-party integrations.

However, Base44 isn’t the most flexible platform, so another free plan would be better suited for those wanting a high level of control over their backend or simple migration. I’ll cover the best free vibe coding plans below.

Key Takeaways 🔍

  • Base44 has the most comprehensive free plan with access to integrations, analytics, and automatic frontend and backend
  • Free vibe coding plans usually restrict credit usage daily and include platform branding on your live apps
  • Consider the native features, integrations, ease of use and free plan limits when choosing a free vibe coding tool

Vibe coding is the process of using natural language prompts to create an app from scratch. You simply explain the app you want to create, and AI writes the code for you.

Vibe coding lowers the barriers into app creation, saving businesses thousands in developer fees and weeks of waiting.

Vibe coding tools offer free plans or trials which can be used to test the platforms and build simple apps, but the feature and usage limits means you’ll need a paid plan to build at scale.

Paid vibe coding plans usually start at around $15-30 per month, and provide more monthly credits and access to premium features. On top of this, they’ll remove platform branding from your apps, which is important for creating professional business apps.

Comparing the Best Free Vibe Coding Tools

Here’s a comparison of the top free vibe coding plans:

1. Base44: Best for Beginners

Base44 is an out-the-box vibe coding tool capable of generating frontend, backend, and hosting without third-party integrations. With a user-friendly interface and simple flat-rate message charges, Base44 is a great option for busy non-technical entrepreneurs on a budget.

What’s Included In Base44’s Free Plan?

Base44 provides five free message credits per day, up to a maximum of 25 credits per month, and 100 integration credits per month (used when live app operations trigger external tools). Unused credits expire when your daily credits reset.

The key features of Base44’s free plan are:

  • User authentication: logins, registration, and access levels
  • Database functionality
  • Analytics (data kept for seven days)
  • AI agents
  • Publish public and private apps

🪙 How Many Credits Will I Use On Base44’s Free Plan?

  • Default mode: Range between 0.5 and two credits per message, depending on the complexity of the request
  • Discussion mode: 0.3 credits per message
  • Automations and operations once app is live (e.g. when an app user generates an image, downloads a file, or uses an AI Agent): One credit per integration use
  • Visual edit mode: Free
  • Error fixes: Charged on free plan

How Much Does It Cost To Upgrade Base44?

Base44’s pricing starts from $20 per month (billed annually). Paid plans include higher credit limits and allow users to create an unlimited number of apps.

To add integrations to your backend, you’ll need to upgrade to Base44’s Builder plan ($40 per month). Here are the four Base44 plans:

  • Starter: $20 per month
  • Builder: $40 per month
  • Pro: $80 per month
  • Elite: $160 per month

2. Lovable: Best for Complex Team Builds

Lovable is a highly flexible free vibe coding platform with plenty of integrations, unlimited collaborators, and customizable settings and features. It’s more reliant on third-party integrations than Base44, meaning you pay extra for app functionality.

What’s Included In Lovable’s Free Plan?

Lovable’s free plan gives users five free credits per day, up to a maximum of 30 credits per month. Key features included are:

  • Public projects
  • Unlimited collaborators
  • Five Lovable-branded domains
  • Access to Lovable Cloud, Lovable’s built-in backend

🪙 How Many Credits Will I Use On Lovable’s Free Plan?

  • Agent mode: Range between 0.5 and two credits per message, depending on the complexity of the request
  • Plan mode: One credit per message
  • Visual edit mode: Free
  • Security checks: Free

How Much Does It Cost To Upgrade Lovable?

Lovable’s pricing starts at $21 per month, when billed annually. Upgrading from the paid plan will allow you to use custom domains, remove Lovable branding, and roll over unused credits to the next month. Here are the prices of Lovable’s two plans:

  • Pro: $21 per month
  • Business: $42 per month

3. Tempo Labs: Best for Debugging

Tempo Labs is one of the best free vibe coding tools for planning complex user journeys, with automatic product requirements document and user flow diagram generation.

While Tempo Labs provides free error fixes, it doesn’t offer as many inbuilt security tools as Base44 and Lovable, so it’s best suited to users with coding experience.

What’s Included In Tempo Labs’ Free Plan?

Tempo Labs’ free plan includes five prompts every day, up to a maximum of 30 prompts per month. Features included in the free plan:

  • Product requirements document and user flow generation
  • One click deployment to Vercel
  • Free error fixes
  • Direct code editing
  • Drag-and-drop editor

Expert Quote

I was impressed by Tempo Labs’ step-by-step process for driving user interface creation and iteration. It shines in terms of frontend workflows (which may lack the same appeal for some deep backend or infrastructure problems).

The free plan only allows access to one app, so you’ll get the most bang for your buck if you start with a limited internal use case — like a simple expense approval tracker — rather than trying to build a full ERP.

Kevin A. Thomas, CFA Founder of Omniga.ai

🪙 How Many Credits Will I Use On Tempo Labs’ Free Plan?

  • Normal mode: One
  • Visual edit mode: Free
  • Error fixes: Free (up to seven times per day)

How Much Does It Cost To Upgrade Tempo Labs?

Tempo Labs’ premium plans start at $30 per month. Upgrading will give you more credits, full access to code and reasoning agents, and the ability to buy credit add-ons without upgrading plans.

  • Pro: From $30 per month
  • Agent+: From $4,500 per month

How To Choose the Right Vibe Coding Tool

To choose the best free vibe coding tool for your needs, be sure to consider the following factors:

  • Manual editing capabilities: Visual editing is one of the best ways to make progress on your app without burning through credits. Check the level of control allowed, and look for drag and drop options that offer precise adjustments.
  • Building limits: Most free vibe coding tools set limits on the amount of apps you can build and some restrict the amount of development time you get.
  • Publishing and deployment: Make sure the free plan supports the type of app you want to publish. For example, can you publish private and public apps, or do you need to upgrade?
  • Integrations: Know the core requirements for your app and find a tool that has the built in features or third-party integrations to support this.
  • Upgrade price: Once you become comfortable with your chosen platform and want to scale your app, you may need to upgrade, so plan ahead and find a tool with paid plans within your budget.

Is a Free Plan the Right Choice for Me?

A free plan should give you enough room to test the interface of your platform and build practice apps. However, the restrictive daily credits and feature locks that come with free plans aren’t enough to build anything more than simple web apps for personal use.

If you’re looking to build a complex, public facing app with advanced controls and customization, you’ll need to upgrade to a premium plan. A paid plan will give you more credits and give your live app a more professional feel by removing platform branding.

How We Test Vibe Coding Tools

To make confident recommendations of the best free vibe coding platforms, myself and the Website Builder Expert team conducted first-hand testing on each platform.

We used the free plan of each vibe coding tool to find out how easy it was to use, how much progress we could make before burning through credits, and to understand any other frustrations from a beginner’s perspective.

To further inform this article, we collected data on each vibe coding tool in the following areas:

  • Value for money: What does the free plan include? How are credits billed? How steep is the upgrade cost?
  • Product capabilities: What core features and integrations does the platform offer? Does it have full stack capabilities? We also looked at other important areas such as storage, security, and customization.

Which Free Vibe Coding Platform Should I Use?

Base44 is the best free vibe coding platform for busy, non-technical business owners, since it has a beginner-friendly interface and can build frontend and backend from as little as one prompt.

However, here’s when it might be best to use another free vibe coding tool:

  • Use Lovable for apps with complex functionality: With an advanced visual editor, vast array of integrations, and unlimited project collaborators, Lovable is great for adding custom functionality to apps.
  • Use Tempo Labs for risk free experimenting: Tempo Labs provides free error fixes, making it perfect for experimenting.

A person in a business outfit sits at a desk, using a laptop and writing in a notebook, surrounded by a modern office setting.

Almost three quarters of SMBs say that marketing costs have negatively affected their profits in January. While making marketing budget cuts may appear to be a quick solution, doing so can make it harder to attract customers and grow your brand in the long term.

We surveyed 300 SMBs in the US on finances, and found marketing to be a common cause of concern. Below, I’ll unpack the trends we found and share how automation may be the best solution.

The Negative Impact of Marketing Costs on SMB Profitability

The costs involved in running a business are on the rise, and profit margins are declining as a result. In fact, our survey found that 13% of SMBs are giving up over 41% of monthly revenue to operating expenses.

Factors like rent, salaries, software subscriptions, and business loans make up the overall cost of keeping your business running day-to-day. Here’s how we categorized these expenses in our survey:
  • Personal costs
  • Rent and facilities costs
  • Technology and software
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Inventory
  • Loan and debt
  • Taxes and regulations
  • General supplies

We asked businesses which operating expenses were the most impactful on their profit margins in January. While taxes and regulatory fees were the biggest concern, 72% of businesses also found marketing and advertising costs were causing a notable drop to their bottom line.

If you’re struggling to work out how to respond to increasing operating expenses, you’re not alone – the majority of businesses we spoke to had no immediate cost-control strategies in place. But for those with a plan, the most popular strategies were reducing discretionary spending, negotiating lower prices, and reducing marketing and advertising spend.

Bar chart showing SMB survey results on strategies used to manage operating expenses, with 11% reducing spending on marketing and advertising
Source: Website Builder Expert

Something’s Got To Give: Marketing Budgets Take a Hit

Our survey found 11% of small to medium US-based businesses are planning to combat increased operating costs by reducing their spend on marketing.

How Much Are Businesses Reducing Marketing Budgets By?

When we asked businesses how much they’re planning to reduce their marketing budgets by, over half fell within the 6% to 15% range. The majority were concentrated on the lower end, making cuts of 6% to 10%, but over a quarter are cutting budgets by 11% to 15%.

Here’s the full breakdown:

  • 23% will reduce marketing budget by 1% – 5%
  • 29% will reduce marketing budget by 6%-10%
  • 26% will reduce marketing budget by 11%-15%
  • 6% will reduce marketing budget by 16%-20%
  • 17% will reduce marketing budget by 21% or more

The Hidden Impact: Marketing Software and Hiring Under Scrutiny

Our survey responses show a strong trend towards tightening investment around marketing activity, with two specific areas being scrutinized:

  1. Software: Of the 11% of businesses planning to re-evaluate their tech and software expenses, the majority (34%) were most keen to cut down on marketing software specifically.
  2. Hiring: Of the SMBs using hiring freezes to combat operational costs, 22% will focus this on the sales and marketing departments.

While cutting marketing costs may provide immediate relief for businesses facing financial pressures, the risks attached to this strategy tend to snowball. For instance, less resources often leads to worsened output (quantity and quality) and as a result, your brand awareness and visibility may take a hit. It’s also challenging to regain market share once lost, meaning you may lose more money in the long term than you save.

Marketing Automation: The Key To SMB Growth Beyond 2026?

Brand awareness and visibility are key to a thriving business, but they take time and effort to maintain. Marketing automation AI tools are the most effective way to maintain marketing activity when short of resources.

To prove this further, marketing was one of the most common uses among the 10% of survey respondents using automation to save on costs:

  • 55% are automating market research
  • 42% are automating personalized marketing

While many businesses are opting out of marketing software and subscriptions to save money, there are wider benefits in committing to AI marketing automation tools. Firstly, by taking care of key tasks, these tools reduce the workload of marketing teams, allowing businesses to carry out hiring freezes.

On top of reducing strain, automations can actually yield faster and better results when it comes to carrying out repetitive tasks that take up time. For instance, you could use AI tools to create content at scale, or to time your email marketing sends for the highest open rate.

Final Thoughts: What To Try First

If your marketing ROI is down, you may feel tempted to make cuts. However, marketing is a key component of long-term growth, so you must weigh up the short and long-term implications of any changes you’re considering.

Before making quick decisions that could hinder your business, ask yourself if you can optimize your marketing spend using AI and automation tools first.

Incorporating trends into your social media strategy is the secret hack for growth and engagement. But as a busy business owner, you might not have hours – or even minutes – to scroll. That’s where I can help.

I’ve kept track of what’s going on across TikTok and Instagram Reels and compiled the three best social media trends for March. You’ll find a trend breakdown, links to the sound, and easy step-by-step instructions to help you recreate!

TikTok Trend: Do You Actually Wanna Do This Or Not?

🎵 Trending sound: Do You Actually Want To Do This?

A motivational podcast from speaker Jocko Willink has quickly become one of the biggest TikTok trends for March. Creators are pairing the dramatic audio “Do you actually wanna do this or not?” with trivial inconveniences, such as “when a customer orders something different from their regular.”

This trend is perfect for service-based businesses or retail workers with funny customer stories to share. The more your stories contrast with the scathing audio, the funnier it will be, so get creative!

This trend can be used by any customer-facing business, from beauty services to the hospitality industry. Source: TikTok users Nails.byjay and Tropical Joes

How To Use This TikTok Trend

  • Click the linked audio and select “Use sound”
  • Lip sync to the audio “do you actually wanna do this or not” with a confused or frustrated expression
  • Add the text “Me when [insert client story].” For example:
    • “When a client asks for my availability then stops replying”

Instagram Reel Trend: I Tripped But…

🎵 Use any trending Instagram audio

Tripping over is painful, but dropping your favorite drink in the process? That might hurt even more. Creators using the latest Instagram Reel trend for March seem to agree, as they share staged falls heroically saving their prized matcha latte.

This social media trend is an obvious choice for coffee shops and other beverage companies. But while the trend centers around matcha, it can be easily adapted to any accessory or beauty product.

How To Use This Instagram Reel Trend

  • Find a trending Instagram sound and select “Use audio”
  • Ask a colleague to stage a fall across a set of steps and scatter their belongings around them
  • Give them a drink, or another product to hold upright
  • Take a picture or the scene from above
  • Add the caption “POV: I fell but I saved my [insert product]”

Instagram Reel Trend: We Belong Together

🎵 Trending sound: Aperture, Harry Styles

Some combinations just work. Salt and pepper, bread and butter, mac and cheese. But what about people? This Instagram Reel trend for March celebrates the things creators can’t live without (along with a Harry Styles audio to ramp up the feel-good, of course).

Brands have been using this trend to speak directly to their target audience, saying “here’s what I create, if you like it you should follow!” This direct call out, combined with the visibility boost from trending audio, is a highly effective discovery method for businesses wanting to grow online.

How To Use This Instagram Reel Trend

  • Click the linked sound and tap “Use audio”
  • Compile around 10 images or short videos that clearly represent your products or services and content style, if you have one
  • To the start of the video, add the text “If you like [insert your products, aesthetic, or post types]”
  • As the audio changes to “We belong together” write the matching text out on the screen

What Should I Post on Social Media in March?

In March, you’ll have the opportunity to advocate (Women’s History Month), share inspirational stories (World Storytelling Day), celebrate your business (Employee Appreciation Day), and have some fun (International Day of Awesomeness).

Here’s a snapshot of content ideas for the top social media calendar dates in March:

Your Wix Services Can Be Discovered In Google: Here’s How It Works https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/news/wix-bookings-integration-google/ https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/news/wix-bookings-integration-google/#respond Tue, 03 Mar 2026 16:34:06 +0000 https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/?p=135862 The post Your Wix Services Can Be Discovered In Google: Here’s How It Works appeared first on Website Builder Expert.

Laptop sat on a wooden bench with Wix logo on the screen

On February 24, Wix announced an integration between Wix Bookings and Google to help searchers view your services within Google Search and Google Maps. This was made possible with Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol, released in January, which allows agentic commerce across Google’s products.

At this early stage, the Wix Bookings integration still has some limitations. But what can it do, what’s to come, and how does it compare to the agentic commerce features offered by other ecommerce platforms? I’ll explain everything below.

How Does Wix Bookings Google Integration Work?

Wix’s latest integration means that Wix businesses can now display their services and availability directly in Google Search and Google Maps.

Once you’ve connected Wix Bookings to Google, here’s what it can do:

  • Display pricing, availability, add-ons, and variations of services
  • Automatically sync with Wix Bookings every 30 minutes to show up to date availability
  • Offer time slot selection within Google before leading through to your Wix website to confirm – this feature is currently available for beauty services, but will be extended to other verticals in the future

Soon, Wix’s integration will cover Gemini powered chats on Google’s AI Mode, as well as Google Search and Google Maps, although a date hasn’t been confirmed yet.

How Do I Connect Google As a Booking Integration?

You’ll need to be on a premium Wix plan to integrate Google and Wix Bookings. Before connecting, you’ll also need to install the Wix Bookings app, create the services you want to appear, and set up a Google Business Profile to link. Once complete, follow these steps:

  • Head to your Wix site dashboard
  • Select “Booking Channels” from the “Catalog” menu in the side panel
  • Open “Booking Integrations”
  • Hit “Connect” under the Google integration and select the services you want to display

Once you follow the steps above, your services will be available on Google Maps and Google Search.

Wix’s Advance Into Agentic AI

This integration isn’t Wix’s first leap into the world of agentic commerce. Back in December 2025, Wix – along with other leading ecommerce platforms, including Squarespace and WooCommerce – partnered with Stripe on its Agentic Commerce Suite, making it easier to get your products mentioned by LLMs.

However, Shopify is the leading ecommerce platform for agentic commerce since it supports the widest range of LLMs, helping you get mentioned in Google’s AI Mode, the Gemini app, ChatGPTs Instant Checkout, and Microsoft Copilot.

Limitations and Next Steps

Wix Bookings’ Google integration helps improve your brand’s AI visibility, which puts you at a huge advantage to your competitors at this early stage of agentic commerce. Still, it has limitations at this time:

  • Google displays limited service information: Available time slots are only viewable for Wix beauty services at this time
  • There is a small delay in syncing: Google syncs to your Wix Bookings site roughly every 30 minutes. While near real time, this delay could cause problems for busy businesses with a regular influx of bookings
  • Searchers can’t book your services through Google: Currently, they are sent through to your website to secure the booking

As AI agents continue to advance, automated product discovery and purchase is becoming an expectation. While the Wix Bookings and Google integration helps you meet your customers where they are, it isn’t yet a fully agentic service.

Still, agentic commerce is developing quickly, so Wix will undoubtedly improve its capabilities in time. For instance, Wix Bookings’ Google integration will be expanding to Google’s AI Mode in the near future.

To keep up to date with the latest developments, I recommend following ecommerce platforms and AI influencers on LinkedIn, and subscribe to our newsletter for weekly insights.

SMBs Under Pressure: How They’re Dealing With High Operating Costs in 2026 https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/news/smbs-handling-high-operational-costs/ https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/news/smbs-handling-high-operational-costs/#respond Tue, 03 Mar 2026 13:53:23 +0000 https://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/?p=135825 The post SMBs Under Pressure: How They’re Dealing With High Operating Costs in 2026 appeared first on Website Builder Expert.

A close-up of a highlighter marking "Operating Expenses" on a printed financial document with listed numbers and notations.

As of January 2026, 13% of SMBs are putting more of their monthly revenue into operating expenses. These rising expenses – from tax and regulatory fees to general supply and admin costs – have led to a profit squeeze for many businesses, forcing SMBs to adjust their pricing strategy in 2026.

That said, there are strategies that SMBs can employ to manage increased operating expenses and protect their bottom line, which were revealed in our latest financial study. I’ll take you through the study’s key findings below.

Our in-house research team surveyed 322 small to medium-sized businesses in the US, gathering their thoughts on their financial situation in January 2026. Our questioning covered key topics, such as:
  • The financial focus in 2026
  • Operating expenses
  • Reactions to external challenges like tariffs
  • Strategies used to combat financial challenges

High Operating Costs Put Pressure on SMBs

With operational costs on the rise due to inflation and complex regulatory changes, many SMBs are feeling the pressure in 2026. Our survey revealed how:

  • 13% of SMBs are allocating 41% or more of their monthly revenue to operating expenses
  • There’s been a 5% rise in SMBs spending 26%-40% of monthly revenue on operating expenses

These rising costs have forced businesses to optimize their financial strategy and protect their profit margins.

Bar chart showing SMB survey results on last month's revenue used for operating expenses, with 28% in the 16-25% range as the highest.

Behind the Profitability Squeeze

According to our financial survey, these are the top five operating costs that SMBs said were negatively impacting their profitability the most:

  1. Taxes and regulatory fees (85% of SMBs)
  2. General supplies and admin expenses (84% of SMBs)
  3. Personnel costs (77% of SMBs)
  4. Tech and software (75% of SMBs)
  5. Inventory and the cost of goods sold (74% of SMBs)

Taxes and regulatory fees came out on top, with 85% of SMBs mentioning it as a key contributor to increased operational costs. This comes as no surprise when we take The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) into account. Though the act has led to significant tax cuts and deductions, it’s forced smaller businesses to pivot their financial strategies to remain compliant with these changes.

Additionally, with 39% of SMBs highlighting inflation and rising costs as the most challenging external factor for their business, the increased costs of general supplies and admin expenses, as well as personnel costs, have added more fuel to the fire.

The Fight for Profit: How SMB Leaders Are Managing Higher Operating Costs

But how are SMBs reacting to these rising operational costs? You can read what businesses are doing (and not doing) below:

What Are the 5 Most Popular Strategies SMBs Are Using?

Though high operating costs pose a significant challenge for SMBs, many businesses have already implemented strategies to help them manage their expenses and protect their margins. Based on our survey, the five most popular strategies for SMBs were:

  1. Cutting or pausing discretionary spending (18% of SMBs)
  2. Negotiating lower prices with key vendors or suppliers (16% of SMBs)
  3. Reducing spending on marketing and advertising (11% of SMBs)
  4. Reevaluating tech & software investments (11% of SMBs)
  5. Implementing new automation tech to replace manual tasks (10% of SMBs)
Bar graph illustrating SMB strategies for managing operating expenses, prioritizing non-essential expense reduction and negotiating prices.
Out of the SMBs interviewed, 23% weren't pursuing significant strategies. Source: Website Builder Expert

Out of the 18% of SMBs cutting discretionary spending, 33% were spending less on travel and accommodation, while 16% were cutting back on office supplies and improvements. Reduced spending in these areas highlight a responsible, cost-conscious approach for SMBs who are determined to only spend money where it is most necessary.

💡 Top Tip!

If you’re examining your discretionary spending and are finding it difficult to work out where to make cuts, think about it in relation to your business objectives. Ideally, you should be cutting spending in areas that aren’t directly contributing to your company’s goals.

For example, if you’re aiming to boost employee retention and satisfaction, you’ll need to be careful when reducing spending on staff events, employee perks, or professional development opportunities.

Least Popular Strategies for Managing Operating Expenses

Out of all the strategies mentioned by SMBs, reducing staff and freezing or reducing hiring was least popular. In fact, reducing staff comes with its own financial implications. Not only do businesses need to consider redundancy expenses, but the costs of hiring and onboarding make it a less appealing strategy for SMBs in 2026.

Another unpopular strategy included renegotiating rent or downsizing physical space, which only accounted for 3% of the SMBs cutting discretionary spending.

What Other Strategies Are We Seeing From SMBs?

Price increases are another key strategy for businesses combating high operational costs. Out of the SMBs we interviewed, nearly half of them were planning to raise their prices in the next six months. And of those businesses, 39% intended to increase their prices by 2.1%-5%.

Bar graph displaying the percentage of businesses increasing prices, categorized by price increase ranges from 0.1% to 12% or more.
Only 6% of SMBs were going to make a significant price raise of 12% or more, with most businesses preferring more incremental change. Source: Website Builder Expert

This data comes as no surprise. In an economic landscape filled with inflation, soaring expenses, and complicated tax and regulatory changes, a price increase can provide short-term, immediate relief – but only if it’s implemented correctly. Without careful research and planning, a price raise could scare off your customers or give your competitors the advantage.

💡 Top Tip!

If you’re considering increasing your prices, it’s important to justify your price hikes by determining your business’s value and communicating this value to your audience.

Additionally, you’ll need a strong understanding of where you stand in the market, so conduct customer and competitor research to ensure that your new pricing is still in line with industry standards.

How Will Your Business Navigate Rising Operating Costs?

If you’re worried about operating costs impacting your profit margins, take inspiration from some of the most popular counter-strategies listed about that other SMBs are using. Whether you’re considering cutting discretionary costs or negotiating lower prices with key vendors, it’s important that these decisions aren’t rushed and truly align with your business’s long-term goals.

Two colleagues discuss a project at a modern office, focusing on a computer screen. One holds a tablet while pointing at the screen.

In our most recent survey, SMBs revealed the tasks that they’re automating as part of their 2026 pricing strategy, which combats rising operational costs. Results showed that the most popular artificial intelligence examples in business included market research (55% of SMBs), as well as scheduling and calendar management (55% of SMBs).

Below, I’ll highlight the ways that SMBs are using workplace AI tools to get ahead, giving you inspiration on how you can integrate AI within your own work processes. I’ll also reveal the tasks that you shouldn’t be automating due to technical restrictions and safety concerns.

To collect these survey findings, our in-house research team spoke to 322 small to medium-sized businesses in the US. We surveyed them on key topics relating to their current financial situation, which included:
  • Their financial focus in 2026
  • Their operating expenses
  • How they’re reacting to external challenges like tariffs
  • The strategies they’re using to combat financial challenges

AI Automation as a Solution to Rising Operating Expenses

In 2026, 10% of SMBs are using automation to manage rising operation costs, such as high taxes and regulatory fees or the price of general supplies and administrative expenses.

By following in the footsteps of these SMBs and harnessing workplace AI, your business could save money as well. When done right, automation can speed up repetitive tasks, increase efficiency, and free up your staff’s time so they can work on more pressing, lucrative matters.

🤔 How much are SMBs spending on operating expenses?

According to our January 2026 survey:
  • 13% of SMBs said they were spending over 41% of monthly revenue on operating expenses
  • We saw a 5% rise in SMBs spending 26%-40% of their monthly revenue on operating expenses (between November 2025 to January 2026)

So, with operating costs steadily increasing, this is an ideal time to be strategic with AI and see where it could help you save cash.

SMBs Are Replacing These Manual Tasks With AI

Our survey revealed the manual tasks that SMBs are primarily using automation. The top four results were:

  1. Market research (55% of SMBs)
  2. Scheduling and calendar management (55% of SMBs)
  3. Data analysis (52% of SMBs)
  4. Inventory management (52% of SMBs)
  5. Writing tasks (48% of SMBs)
  6. Personalised marketing (42% of SMBs)
Bar chart displaying automation technology uses: Market research and scheduling (55%), data analysis (52%), with legal research at 27%.
Other uses for AI included customer support and document classification, but to a much lesser degree. Source: Website Builder Expert

But should your business be replacing these tasks with AI, too? If you’re curious about how automations can help your business, the table below offers some futher pointers to help you decide what you’d like to achieve with AI:

⚠️ One thing to remember when using AI...

When you’re using AI small business tools, never forget the human element. Though AI tools look impressive, they can still make mistakes – many of them, in fact. As a business, it’s important to continually review the output of your AI tools, look out for mistakes or inaccuracies, and make refinements if necessary.

Tasks You Shouldn’t Give To Your AI Workplace Assistant

Based on our survey, there are some tasks that SMBs aren’t automating as much:

  • Cyber security measures (0% of SMBs)
  • Legal research (27% of SMBs)
  • Design tasks (30% of SMBs)
  • Document classification (30% of SMBs)

The tasks listed above tend to be more high-risk, involve sensitive customer information, or require human oversight. For instance, it would be unwise for your business to have AI oversee your website’s security entirely, since errors could put customer data at risk and lead to reputational or financial damage.

Practically, this means you should only automate tasks that have a low penalty for error. You can edit an AI-generated typo in a few seconds, but a security breach or legal issue could take your business months to resolve, or even inflict damage you can’t recover from. Lean on human expertise for these critical tasks instead.

Which Tasks Will Your Business Automate Next?

Before you automate key tasks in 2026, remember to:

  • Assess your requirements (Ask yourself, “what tasks do I need streamlined?”)
  • Check your budget
  • Compare tools on the market, looking at scope, pricing, and ease-of-use
  • Consider your team’s needs and if they’ll require onboarding and training

Though AI workplace assistants and tools can benefit your business in the long-run, you’ll need to spend time and money setting up and getting your entire team acquainted with these changes. So, don’t skip the planning stage when integrating AI with your business for best results.

The quality of your customer service can make or break a purchase decision. Not only that, but it’s a key consideration for returning customers. In fact, the majority of the businesses we surveyed (57%) are improving their customer service as a way to retain customers amid changes to their pricing strategies

AI and automations have driven plenty of developments in customer service, and it’s important for brands to evolve their online services to keep up with these developments. Use these customer service trends as inspiration!

#1. Complex AI Chatbots

Brands are continuing to develop their AI-powered chatbots to provide immediate, high quality customer service to their customers. On top of handling answers to your commonly asked questions, the best AI chatbots are capable of:

  • Tracking orders and returns
  • Providing personalized product recommendations
  • Initiating conversations based on a user’s browsing behavior
  • Assess availability and make bookings on behalf of the customer

Adding or enhancing an AI chatbot helps lower ticket volumes and minimizes the need for hiring extra staff. This gives you more time to handle the most complex queries with care and maintain strong customer relationships.

How To Implement An AI Chatbot

There are plenty of AI chatbot platforms to choose from. I recommend Tidio for budget conscious ecommerce stores, since it has a free-forever plan that allows 50 conversations per month.

#2. Hyper Personalized Self-Service

Providing customers with the resources to help themselves is essential. In 2026, consumers expect to manage routine tasks quickly and independently.

This goes beyond generating FAQs and knowledge bases. Keeping up with the competition now involves providing personalized dynamic tools to help your customers find the answers to their questions. This includes:

  • Personalized size guides
  • AI powered product try-ons
  • Interactive product matching quizzes
A 3 step product matching quiz for a pair of earplugs, recommending the "Loop Switch 2" based on answers
Loop’s “Help me choose” entirely cut out the research process by making a confident product recommendation based on my habits and preferences. Source: Website Builder Expert

How To Implement Personalized Self-Service

A product matching quiz is the easiest self-service tool to implement, since it can be created with a vibe coding tool, such as Base44 or Lovable, without needing any technical expertise.

If you’re worried about costs, you should be able to create a simple product matching quiz without needing to upgrade to a paid vibe coding plan. To get the best results from your free credits, read our guide on how to write effective AI prompts.

#3. Preemptive Action

Responding to queries with speed and efficiency is the foundation of customer service. However, preempting your customers’ needs and providing solutions to problems they didn’t know they had is what will help you stand out from the competition.

There are many ways to be proactive in customer service, including:

  • Sending regular tracking update emails
  • Communicating longer delivery times during peak season
  • Sending timely reminders to order products in time for special occasions
Email from Look Fantastic apologizing for a delayed order with a "view your account" CTA
Email notification of my order delay prevented me from worrying it was lost and eliminated the need to contact customer service about my delivery. Source: Website Builder Expert

How To Implement a Preemptive Customer Service Approach

To preempt your customers’ needs, you need to know them inside out. Walk through the entire user journey, and pick out the pain points and issues they may have along the way to see where you can help them.

For example, if you run a personalized card business, you could nudge your customers annually to put in an order ahead of seasonal holidays and birthdays that they’ve previously ordered for.

The Importance of Customer Retention

Increased operational costs and labor shortages mean that businesses must act strategically to stay stable. Refining your support system before adjusting your pricing allows you to deliver a memorable experience that builds long-term loyalty.

What else should you be doing?

We asked small to medium businesses about their top customer retention strategy for 2026, and the results showed improved customer service and email marketing and newsletter to be the most popular:
  • Improved customer service: 57%
  • Personalized email marketing and newsletters: 42%
  • Seasonal sales and discounts: 36%
  • Referral programs: 34%
  • Implementing loyalty schemes: 24%

You don’t need to be a developer to use Google AI Studio, a browser-based workspace where you can try out Google’s most powerful AI models. With this platform’s help, you can hop on the vibe coding train and use natural language prompts to develop apps, internal tools, or prototypes, or quickly generate professional content for your business.

But before you use Google AI Studio, you need to work out if it’s right for your business and its goals. Below, I’ll take you through everything you need to know, from its key features and pricing to how you might use the platform to save time, money, or resources.

💡 Key Takeways

  • Google AI Studio is a browser-based workspace where you can “vibe code” apps and test Google’s different AI models
  • Though the Free Tier costs nothing, Google can use your public data to train its models further
  • You should upgrade to the Paid Tier if you want to keep your business data private and secure
  • Paid Tier users also get access to a wider range of Google tools, such as Imagen 4 for photorealistic images and Veo 3.1 for video generation
  • With Google AI Studio, you can create app prototypes and internal business tools, or generate multimedia content for your business

What is Google AI Studio

Google AI Studio is a browser-based workspace where you can test Google’s most powerful generative AI models, from Gemini 3 to Nano Banana. Think of it as an online playground where you can experiment with prompting to generate apps and agents, as well as photos, videos, and other content types.

How Do I Start Using Google AI Studio?

To begin using Google AI Studio, you’ll first need to:

  1. Head to “aistudio.google.com”
  2. Log in with a Google Account
  3. Accept Google’s AI Labs privacy and usage terms

After following these instructions, you’ll end up on Google AI Studio’s landing page where you can begin experimenting with its AI models.

From the landing page, I could jump straight into prompting, see my last projects, or track my total usage so far. Source: Website Builder Expert

How Does Google AI Studio Work?

Google AI Studio works by connecting you with its most advanced AI models in one, browser-based location. This means you don’t need to spend forever installing software or setting up with code to start. You can interact with its AI models through plain-English prompting, or by inputting images, video, and audio files.

If you look at the left-hand sidebar after you’ve logged in, you’ll see the following tabs:

  • Playground: You can test out Google’s AI models here. For example, you can select the “Gemini” tab if you want to develop chatbots and agents, or the “Image” tab if you want to create high-quality imagery for a website.
  • Build: If vibe coding is your key focus, click on this tab. From here, you can start using natural language prompting to build an app with AI. Gemini will generate your app’s code for you each time you prompt and produce a live preview of how the app looks and runs.
  • Dashboard: This is a centralized area where you can manage your projects, the API Keys you’ve created, and your usage rate limits or billing.
  • Documentation: Here you’ll find useful resources on Google’s AI models and what they can do.

To get an API key for each project, you can click on the “Get API Key” button in the left-hand sidebar, enabling you to create a new key or select an existing Google Cloud project. However, treat your API key like a password and don’t share it with anyone. Malicious third-parties could use your key to access your data.

Google AI Studio: Key Features

Google AI Studio’s key features are listed below:

Long Context Window

Google AI Studio has a long context window. In simple terms, its Gemini models can process a high-volume of text, images, and documents all at once – and remember it! This is helpful if you intend to have long, in-depth conversations with the AI models, or want to upload large documents.

Multimodality

Google AI Studio is multimodal, meaning that you can test prompting for text, imagery, video, and audio in one place. The main AI models enabling you to generate different content types include:

  • Nano Banana for image generation (on Free Tier)
  • Imagen 4 for photo-realistic image generation (on Paid Tier only)
  • Veo 3.1 for video generation (on Paid Tier only)

Easy Code Export

One of Google AI Studio’s strongest features is the ability to easily export your code and put it into action, a crucial step that’s made super accessible for new users.

Once you’ve finished a project, you can retrieve the code so that it’s ready to add your website or app. In “Playground” mode, select the “Get Code” button to convert the code into a suitable programming language (like Java or Python). If you’re a complete beginner, you can hand this code over to a developer later, since they’ll understand what’s most suitable for your project.

But if you’re using “Build” mode to vibe code an app, you have more options available. You could:

  • Copy and paste your code from the “Code” tab
  • Push your code to Github
  • Download your app as a ZIP file by clicking on the download icon

Run Settings

If you’re using the “Playground” option, you’ll find “Run Settings” in the right-hand sidebar. This is your control room where you can adjust how you want Google’s AI models to run during the prototyping stage. The main tools you can access include:

  • Model selection: This makes it easy to switch between AI models
  • Temperature: A slider than enables you to control how creative or random you’d like an AI model to act
  • Aspect ratio: If you’re generating images, you can use this feature to adjust the width and height of your image
  • Safety settings: This tool enables you to adjust harmful content thresholds, spanning harassment, hate speech, sexually explicit content, and dangerous content
  • Stop sequences: You can control when an AI model should stop generating further text or content in a response

What’s the Difference Between Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and Gemini Advanced?

When browsing through Google’s AI offerings, you’ll likely come across Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and Google AI Pro (formerly Gemini Advanced). Though all these platforms enable you to use AI models like Gemini, they have major differences and specific use cases:

To get a taste of Google’s AI tools, I recommend beginning with Google AI Studio, since you’ll be able to vibe code apps and generate content without spending a cent.

For businesses with more specialized needs, I recommend looking into the other two options instead. Vertex AI’s complex, custom pricing and enterprise tools are most suitable for large or scaling businesses that want to create powerful apps. Meanwhile, Google AI Pro offers a useful selection of tools for small or medium sized teams to use and boost productivity.

💡 Good To Know!

If you’re wondering why Gemini Advanced isn’t on this list, it’s because Google renamed it as Google AI Pro, which is the subscription-based service outlined above that comes with multiple AI tools.

How Much Does Google AI Studio Cost?

Google AI Studio’s costs depend on the plan you’re on, which I’ve outlined in the table below:

The Free Tier is ideal if you want to experiment with Google’s AI tools, work on personal projects, or create app prototypes and internal business tools that don’t contain sensitive data.

However, I recommend enabling billing and upgrading to the Paid Tier if you want access to all of Google’s AI models and don’t want to be restricted by a limited number of daily requests. It’s most useful if you’re going to be using Google’s AI tools regularly, or are interested in creating public-facing apps that may contain private data.

Can You Get Google AI Studio for Free?

You can use Google AI Studio for free, but it does come with significant drawbacks. Google will use your data to train its AI models, so avoid submitting your private data when using the free tier. Additionally, you’ll only be able to experiment with a limited number of tools. Upgrade to the Paid Tier if you want to try out Google’s best AI content tools or models, such as Nano Banana Pro.

Examples of How To Use Google AI Studio in Your Business

If you’re unsure how Google AI Studio might fit in with your business’ operations, here are a few examples of how it could help.

Speedier Content Creation

If you’re most interested in AI content creation and would like to generate content for your business, Google’s AI models like Nano Banana can help.

For example, you could head into Google AI Studio’s “Playground” and:

  • Generate images or videos for your website and use prompting to refine the content until you’re happy with the finished result
  • Use text-based prompts to generate website copy, such as long-form blog posts or social media captions for an image you’ve attached

Rapid Prototyping

In “Build” mode, you can start vibe coding and prototyping your own apps within minutes. This functionality is useful if you want to bring your initial ideas into reality, but you’ll still need to hand your project over to a developer later on so they can refine and secure your code. Because of this, I don’t recommend using Google’s AI models alone for public-facing apps that will contain sensitive data.

Developing Your Own Tools

You could also use vibe coding on Google AI Studio to develop your own tools. This might include a personal productivity tool to keep yourself on track, or an internal business tool that you and your colleagues could use to boost efficiency. Some ideas include:

  • A budget tracker, helping you better organize your personal or business expenses
  • An email drafter to generate email templates in your company tone of voice for different clients or purposes
  • An AI product description generator to create descriptions in bulk for your store
  • An alerts tracker that notifies your business of any major industry news or product releases
  • An SEO analysis tool that could score your webpages based on how SEO-friendly they are

🚨 Before You AI Generate Apps...

Be mindful of the data that you’re sharing with Google’s AI models. If you’re using Google AI Studio for free, it can use your data to train its models and improve its services for users. Don’t share any private information, especially customer or sensitive business data, with the AI.

What’s My Final Verdict on Google AI Studio?

Google AI Studio is a low-cost solution for businesses that want to experiment with Google’s latest AI models, but don’t want to commit straight away. From one handy location, you can experiment with vibe coding and turn your ideas into reality. Alternatively, generate additional content that your business can use on its website, social media accounts, or as physical marketing materials.

However, Google AI Studio won’t be a perfect solution for most businesses, especially if you’re on the Free Tier. Google can use your public data to train its AI, there are daily usage limits, and you’ll have restricted access to some of Google’s AI models. Keep these cons in mind when deciding if the platform will be useful for your business in the long-term or not.
